About Us
We are a family friendly club that provides encouragement and archery skills development to people of all abilities and ages from 8yrs old to 80.

We have 30-40 current members that are all members of Archery Australia and have completed Advanced Come 'N Try Archery certificates. A core group of us compete regularly at tournaments around the state of NSW and interstate.

Members of Mountain Archers include 2009 Australian Men's Recurve Field Archery Champion Steve Kilgannon and current Women's Masters Assisted X-Bow World Silver Medalist Sharon Grimston.

One notable past Mountain Archers club member was Peter Brownlow who represented Australia in the Mens Open Compound Division at the World Cup Indoor Archery in Izmir, Turkey 2008. He and his team mates Pat Coghlan from S.A, and Clint Freeman Tas, came 4th in the Teams Event. Pete is currently taking a break from archery.

We have seven permanent strammit butts on a very scenic sports ground (Browntown Oval) which is fairly sheltered from the elements unless we get a fairly strong gully breeze blowing up the Megalong Valley. We have a large number of foam animal 3D targets that we can safely set up for target practise in the corner of Browntown Oval. We also own a number of portable foam targets that we use at our tournaments like our "Highland Fling" events in 2008 (see photos), and when we hosted the State and National Indoor Archery Competition in 2006 at Blue Mountain Grammar School gymnasium. Our amenities include a long sheltered verandah, w/c accessible toilet and ramp to the oval, men's and women's toilets, ashphalt car park, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, bbq and pie warmer (great for those cooler days, so bring a frozen pie or pasty along in the morning and by lunchtime it will be piping hot!) All Archery Australia members are welcome, just show your current membership card and $5 shooting fee applies.
