Lithgow Ironfest

Ever since the dark ages of 1999 the ancient city state of Lithgow has been celebrating its "metalifferous" roots with the Lithgow Ironfest held on the Anzac Day Long Weekend in April with events like "The Battle of Lithgow" with the Medieval, Colonial and 20th Century Re-enactment clubs from around Australia.

Of course the Mountain Archers have always been there, look beyond the outer reaches of Lithgow Showground beyond the Tourney Ground of Jousting, and Colonial Encampment. Have a shot at the Lithgow Black Panther with a bow and arrow for 50 cents!

Lithgow really comes alive during this weekend with bands, buskers, Lithgow Pipe Band, Ballroom Dancing, Belly Dancing, Choirs, Art and Craft, Public Executions and Blacksmithing Workshops.

It really is a great alternative to modern day amusement parks and commercial expos.

Mountain Archers helped 489 people pick up a bow and some arrows and have some fun over the 2 days of 14th and 15th of May 2011. People came from all over NSW and Australia to have some Medieval fun.

Maybe we could see you and your family there on April 21st and 22nd in 2012...

Hope to see you there!
