Where do you shoot?
We shoot at Browntown Oval Mt Victoria, on Sunday mornings.(between Blackheath & Mt Vic)

What do I get with my membership?
When you become a member of the club you will become a member of the ASNSW (Archery Society of New South Wales). This lets you shoot at any club in NSW, that is affiliated with Archery New South Wales.

What do I need to start?
The minimal requirements are a bow and some arrows. We do have bows available for a hiring fee. At beginners courses bows are provided.

Are there beginners courses available?
We run beginners courses every 6 to 7 weeks. At least one of our coaches will be on hand at many, if not all, of our shoots throughout the year. Call or email us to find out when.

What sort of bow should I buy?
There are many types: the longbow, recurve, self bow, compound, x-bow. X-Bows are a bow like any other weapon in the wrong hands, is dangerous, but with your club membership and prohibited weapons license you can shoot at our club and any other club affiliated with Archery NSW. The best way to decide is to go to the club and see what takes your fancy. We have a number of longbow shooters, plus a couple of cross-bow shooters.

What sort of arrows should I use?
Once again there are many types of arrows and they vary greatly in cost. The most common and one of the cheapest is the aluminium shaft. These must be fitted for the draw length and weight of your bow. It is best to see a store. They can calculate the best for your bow when you have it.

Are there age limits?
There is no age limits to archery. The club only prefers that children are over 8 and older if they are going to be left by the parents for the day.

Are disabled allowed to shoot?
Their is no disability in archery. The club has one lady in a wheel chair which her husband as made  a system so the archer holds her bow in her left hand and has a trigger in her mouth worked on air, which she bites on to fire.
